Private rooms with a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort on the Stewart-Cassiar highway in Dease Lake, BC.

We are the beginning of your northern journey. The “Arctic Divide” gets its name from the Pacific-Arctic watershed boundary from which all rivers flow north just minutes from our lodge.

All of our rooms feature their own private bathroom, free WIFI via Starlink, your own Roku for streaming TV shows & high thread count linens and a weighted duvet to keep you cozy on those cool mountain nights.

At the Arctive Divide, we appeal to travellers whom are self sufficient and are looking for something different than your average hotel stay - all guests self-check in electronically by keycode so you can arrive at any hour from your Stewart-Cassiar drive, a communal kitchen is available for all guests to make their own meals & a common dining table is there for you to eat and meet other travellers.

Private apartments with their own kitchen & chalets are also reservable.

Our hallways are like an art gallery, our log building features beautiful handmade craftmanship - we bring boutique style with a log cabin flare to our rooms.

(Sorry furry friends, we are currently not accepting reservations for pets at this time.)

Travel tips: Getting the most out of your stay on the Stewart-Cassiar at The Arctic Divide

  • All rooms arrive by self-check in with advance arrival instructions sent to your email inbox 3 days before you come. Arrive at any hours of the evening or night to support your long driving days and need to arrive stress-free without a time.

  • We are all about self-sufficiency at The Arctic Divide. A communal kitchen is provided on site so you can prepare your own meals. Reduce your impact on this remote region.

  • Travel the Stewart-Cassiar as a scenic alternative to more popular Alaska Highway, still fully paved & readily available gas stations year-round at KM0 (Kitwanga), KM145 (Meziadin Jnct), KM490 (Dease Lake), KM 735 (Watson Lake).

  • In the north, time is different & distances are different. Our friendly owners & operators are here to help you plan your trip. Send us an email with your travel itinerary and we will assist.

Our reviews: People are noticing that we do different right!

We admit, we are not for everyone and that is okay. We seek the right traveller that wants to be self-sufficient, limit their impact on the area and fully take in what the beauty of the Stewart-Cassiar has to offer.

We are an indigenous-family owned and operated business, and it is important that our travellers have the respect and understanding of the land in which we operate on. In every room, we collaborated on a greeting from the Tahltan Nation and encourage all of our travellers to learn more.

If this is you, we are the place to stay - in fact we are rated in the top 5% of accommodation in the world.

Your hosts & company

The Arctic Divide mission is to provide an experience where visitors feel like they are locals. Every traveller is to be educated on what it means to travel a remote area. Arctic Divide is a family-indigenous owned family business. In 2023, Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada accredited the business as “Original original” - we strive to exceed diversity targets and only hire local residents where possible & promote employment experiences in indigenous tourism.

Please reach out to us if you need any assistance planning your travels.
